I live each day listening to life stories

Hola!

Exhaustive night. Back from Gynecology on-call, only ONE case for the entire night, well at least it's slightly better compared to previous on-call which I manage to see NONE. Not fated to be Gynecologist perhaps.

A&E is a city that never sleeps. Eh, like New York City. All zones look gloomy, because they are all enclosed! Daytime just looks exactly like night time, you won't see the sunlight, raindrops and optimistically, haze. Green zone looks the brightest, followed by Yellow zone while Red Zone looks the least bright. I believe if you do a thorough examination on the staffs, they might be lacking of some essential Vitamin D. This sort of gives me an idea what venture I'm going to take, and not to take, after graduating.

Saw few students from M university, they look like Medical Students to me, judging from the lab coat they were wearing, but friend told me they are Nursing students. Ahh Whatever. It was their disgust look they gave us and with the incomprehensible language, annoyed me much. You may say I'm arrogant/selfish whatever, I felt our territory was being invaded. uhm. Just some thought.

Ohya, I am immensely in love, with the current medical student life. 4th year, which notoriously known as Honeymoon Year. To be exact, it's only half a year. Back to University Malaya Medical Center (UMMC) after completing 3rd year in Klang is flattering you know! I don't hate Klang hospital, in fact I find it an excellent place to learn as a medical student. Patients were kind, and never get short on patients with incessant admissions. Most probably it's the enormous number of crows that irritated me ahahahah random reason. Alright, get serious. Perhaps being away from people you love to hang out with is an agony. Other reasons -- High level of stress since it was the first clinical year, hospital with stuffy atmosphere ( clerking history and doing physical examination were not fun at all when your hands are busy writing/examining the patient and had to make sure to wipe away the drops of sweat on your face before it runs down all the way from your forehead, to your cheek/nose and lastly to your patient's body!) Embarassing ok.

Love hanging out in UMMC ward because they are air-conditioned! Used to be told that UMMC patients may not be willing to be clerked by medical students and one may find learning process to be difficult if we keep having such not-so-willing-to-spend-time-for-medical-students patients. However what I have been experiencing so far is the exact opposite. Patients here are as kind as those in Klang. And the staff nurses here are 10000000x more polite and kind compared to those in Klang! Why so much difference someone tell me pls?! Klang hospital should be equipped with air-cond too may be haha.

Last day in Gynae Ward. Not joking gonna miss this ward because we are not coming back here again. Not until you're going for your housemanship. Listening to stories from patient, mostly are rather sad. Patients are the best tutors, this is true. They taught me a lot. And I sometimes ended my conversation with the patient by telling them I learnt a lot from them and it always plants a smile on their face. A contentment.

I dislike people being emo, yes emo wth. It's not like I never show it, but come on, you don't get emo 2-3x each week do you?? Learnt from a friend telling how ridiculous someone could be. That someone got all stressed out because of people surrounding. people baca buku pun dia marah, people main pun dia marah. Bangs the things hard on table, whack the door etc etc. Ha ha, I find it rather funny how easy it is to alter your emotion. Why so fragile and why not learn to control your emotion?! That someone thinks people could tolerate her now, and in the future.  Come on, you don't easily find people who could tolerate you elsewhere!   Unless you're going to stay at the same place forever and not moving on with your life. Learn to grow up little girl. SICK

Ward round on Saturday (!) with Prof J. Hopefully we can stop giving her headache by offering best answers to all her questions. Lucks please thanks.
